1. Log into the platform
Start by accessing the eBTC platform and ensure that youโre logged in with the correct wallet. This will allow you to interact with the platform and open your leverage position.
2. Access your position
Navigate to the Open Positions section. Locate the position you want to close and click Manage. This will take you to the management menu where you can choose between adjusting, deleveraging, or closing your position. The management interface gives you control over the position, allowing you to see key metrics such as your collateral, debt, liquidation price, and current collateralization ratio (CR). To proceed with closing the position, look for the Close Position button at the bottom of the menu.
3. Initiate the Closing Process
After entering the Manage menu, you will see options to adjust or delever your position as previously explained. However, to close your position, click the Close Position button located at the bottom of the interface. Closing your position will allow you to withdraw your collateral and repay the debt, effectively ending the leverage. When you initiate the closing process, the system will update the metrics, showing how much collateral (in stETH) you will receive and the outstanding debt that needs to be paid off in eBTC. This step is essential to settling your obligations and freeing up your locked collateral.
4. Review and Confirm the Close
Before confirming the closure, the platform will show a summary of the positionโs details, allowing you to review the important aspects of the transaction. This preview will display the amount of collateral being returned to you, the Gas Stipend reserved for transaction costs, the outstanding Debt, and the final Collateralization Ratio. Youโll also see the Liquidation Price and confirm there are no repayment fees. Once you are satisfied with the figures, click Confirm Close to finalize the transaction. The system will process the transaction, and your debt will be repaid, freeing up your stETH collateral for withdrawal.
